DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT

Breast cancer transcends mere statistics; it's a global crisis, a human narrative playing out in the intimate spaces of lives across the world. In Iran, where it claims the lives of countless women, the urgency to tell these stories isn't just a mission, it's a necessity.

As a documentary filmmaker, I wasn't content with surface-level facts. I wanted to excavate the deeper, often hidden layers of this disease within Iranian society, particularly as it affects women.

Then I met Linda; NOT a subject, but a force. She wasn't simply surviving; she was rewriting the rules. She taught me that cancer demands navigation, not conquest, with acceptance as the compass and a positive spirit as the guide.

My loss, the ghost of my aunt, claimed by breast cancer, is not merely a footnote; it's the fire that forged this film. This is a personal reckoning.

Linda'S STATEMENT

I am fifty years old, and for twenty of those years I have lived with the struggles of cancer. But the summer of 2025 feels very different from the summers of the past. Now I can walk freely, breathe without oxygen, sleep without unbearable bone pain, and speak without the suffocating coughs that once defined my days.

With treatment keeping my lung and bone metastases under control, I live a more normal, hopeful life. I no longer need help just to rise from bed, I can prepare breakfast, bake bread, and fill our once-silent home with the scent of life, the sweetness of cake, and the steady hum of my sewing machine.

We eight Women

Funded by Linda

This is a group of women funded by Linda, who aim to inspire and support others battling cancer. The group represents the broader impact of Linda's advocacy. Despite losing some members to the disease, they continue to spread a message of hope and resilience through seminars, social media, and community activity breaking the stigma surrounding cancer in Iranian society.
